These allow access to such things as thermal detonators, an old school projectile weapon, and the chance to turn your gun into an ion cannon (which shorts out shields) for a short time. There’s no weapon customisation or character class options though, with everything instead handled through unlockable ‘Star Cards’. Obviously DICE are able to make their Battlefield-esque experience feel considerably more authentic, but although the physics and animation is familiar the details are different.Īs is by now well known there are no iron sights in Battlefront, although all the guns seem to have a sight on them that offers a considerable level of zoom. It’s at this point you realise that while this might be called Battlefront it really has nothing in common with the old LucasArts games, except that they’re both Battlefield clones set in the Star Wars universe.
